6th Annual Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Forum Wednesday, March 13th at the Sheraton Framingham 1657 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA 01701
How many of us walked and biked to school growing up? A generation ago, half of all American school children walked and biked to school each day. Now only 15% of students are walking and biking. The 6th annual Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Forum is an opportunity for educators, public health professionals, law enforcement officials, local government representatives, and parents to come together and take away solutions that create opportunities for children in Massachusetts to walk and bike safely and frequently. Be sure to check your email next week for your official invitation, as well as the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Facebook page for special updates about the Forum. The Massachusetts Safe Routes to School program is a federally funded initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and has the goal of increasing children’s physical activity, improving air quality, easing traffic congestion and fostering the continued growth of safe and sustainable communities.
