Dear Memorial-Spaulding Families,

I am writing to you to announce that after much refection I have decided to retire as principal of Memorial-Spaulding School at the end of this school year. Over the course of the last 37 years I have had the pleasure of serving as a teacher and administrator in a few different communities but none more satisfying than Newton. It is now time for me to explore new challenges and spend more time with my parents, family and friends.

The last six years working in Newton at Memorial-Spaulding have been my most rewarding years of my educational career. It has been a privilege to work collaboratively with so many talented educators, wonderful families and the best students. I am so proud of the work we have accomplished at Memorial-Spaulding School and I know this work will continue because we do what is best for children.

I am sharing this information with you now so that Superintendent David Fleishman and Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education Cynthia Paris Jeffries will have ample time to conduct a principal search. They will be contacting you to involve the parent community in the hiring process. I encourage you to get involved.

In the upcoming months I look forward to continuing our work together with the Memorial-Spaulding School staff to ensure that this year continues to be a great one for everyone.
