Last Chance for Newton East Spring Little League Registration – March 1st

2012 Newton East Little League Spring Baseball Registration closes March 1 - Now is your last chance to register for Farm, College, Cooperstown and Majors Divisions. Tryouts for Cooperstown and Majors are scheduled for Thursday, March 1 and Sunday, March 4 respectively. T-Ball registration will be open until March 31, 2012. Newton Youth Lacrosse Registration Now Open

2012 NEWTON YOUTH LACROSSE SPRING REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.

 

The Spring Youth Lacrosse Season which begins in April of 2012 is NOW accepting registrations for :

 

LEVELS :

1st – 2nd graders = U-9 Learn to Play Level

3rd – 4th graders  = U-11 Level

5th – 6th graders  = U-13 Level

7th – 8th graders  = U-15 Level

 

Practices are 2 nights per week ( either Mon & Wed or Tues & Thurs ) with a game on Sundays.  The season runs from April – June.  So come join the FASTEST growing game on two legs.

 

REGISTRATION DOES FILL QUICKLY SO DON’T MISS OUT !!!!  With the growing popularity of this sport, there has once again been an overwhelming interest in the Newton Lacrosse program this year, and we as an organization are expecting Teams to fill very quickly. DON’T BE LEFT OUT !!!!  Get on and register today, and then forget about it till April.

Newton Little League Registration Now Open

2012 NEWTON EAST LITTLE LEAGUE SPRING BASEBALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

On-line registration for the 2012 Spring baseball season is now open for boys and girls aged 4 to 12. The programs run from April through the middle of June.

The programs run by NELL: T-BALL – kindergarten or entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2012; Farm Division – 1st and 2nd grade; College Division – 3rd-6th grade: This division is a developmental league; Cooperstown Division – 3th through 6th grade: This division is a more advanced league. Players who wish to play in the Cooperstown Division must attend the tryout. Little League age 12 players may play in this division by waiver only; Major League Division - 4th through 7th grade: Open to players who are aged 10 to 12. To be placed on a Major League team you must try out.
The registration fee for T-Ball and Farm League players is $130 and for College, Cooperstown and Major League players $155. If you have more than one child in NELL, you will receive a $30.00 fee reduction for each additional player. The registration deadline is March 31, 2012 for T-Ball and January 31, 2012 for all other leagues. After the deadline, placement is not guaranteed and a late registration fee will apply (except for T-Ball). For more information and to register, visit NELL’s website: www.newtoneastll.org

Soccer/Basketball Instructor, and Dog Walker

As a past graduate of Brown Middle School, Newton South HS ’07, and recent graduate of Pitzer College ’11, I am gladly offering my services as a soccer/basketball instructor and dog walker. My sports and educational credentials are:

  • Played 4 years of Newton South HS soccer (senior captain), and 3 years at Pitzer-Pomona College
  • Coached Newton Athletic Association basketball for 3 years (won 2 championships)
  • Played 3 years of NSHS basketball, and 8 years of NAA basketball
  • Practiced teacher in multiple settings (HIV educator in Tanzania, English teacher in Ecuador, discussion leader at LA County juvenile detention center, natural history day camp instructor in Wellfleet)
  • Child and infant CPR, and First Aid certified

All levels of ability welcome! I can work in group sessions or individual lessons.

‘Mad Dog’ Wrestling Club for 4th and 5th Graders

Several former and current wrestling coaches (Kevin Ranhdall, PJ Cameron, John Passarini, John Staulo, and Kevin Russo) have started a youth wrestling program — the Mad Dog Wrestling Club — for the kids of Newton as well as surrounding communities to learn the sport of wrestling. A parent information meeting will be held at the Fessenden School/wrestling room in the Pallotta Athletic Center (450 Crafts Street, West Newton) on Wednesday, September 7th at 7:30PM. Parents will have the opportunity to meet our coaches, learn about our programs as well as the sport of wrestling (if they are new to the sport); in person registration will also be available. The club has two current programs:

  • Youth Program (grades 4-8) – will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30PM.
  • High School Program – will meet on Monday evenings from 7-8:30PM.
