This year’s Read-A-Thon will be starting March 5th, running through April 6th. The theme is March Madness! It’s easy to get your child involved! Your child should have come home with an orange colored form which covers the details of the Read-A-Thon on one side and is a Reading Log on the other.
To re-cap: the classes have been divided into NCAA Basketball teams and will compete for a pizza party for first place, and a $35 donation of classroom books for 2nd. Top readers in each class earn a certificate. Points are earned for the number of minutes of reading completed and/or if a book response is filled out (see below).
Your child’s nightly reading can qualify towards the Read-A-Thon. Additional logs and response sheets are attached to this post as PDFs that you can download and print out. Points are tallied as followed:
30 minutes reading = 1 point
60 minutes reading = 2 points
90 minutes reading = 3 points
120 minutes reading = 4 points
1 Book Response = 3 points
Please see forms attached; they are grade specific for K-2 and 3-5.
