CASC Techsplorations “Shocking World of Electricity” program paid a visit to the 5th grade class before the February break.

This program was a big hit and it is very enriching for the students.

The presenter started with an entertaining and informative whole grade presentation explaining and showing the kids many facets of electricity.

They learned about atoms, positive and negative electrons, circuits, amperage and more. They learned about making a “lemon clock”, how electric and solar power work and properties of magnets.  Many of the students were called on stage to demonstrate the examples of electricity. Ask your kids, which teacher is the Best Blues singer. The presentation ended with our own, Ms. DeRusha singer a blues version of an electricity song.

Following the whole grade presentation, each class had a workshop with our presenter. The kids got to create their own electrical circuits. This program was great fun, educational and a great extension to their Science curriculum.
