Vision and hearing screening programs are conducted annually in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws. Vision screening is done in grades Kindergarten through 5 and Hearing screening is done in grades Kindergarten through three. The school screening program is not a diagnostic service but does provide information about possible vision or hearing problems. If your child does not pass the vision or hearing screening a referral letter will be sent home. Kindergarten screening was done in October and grades 1-5 are ongoing. Any questions or concerns please email @ [ mailto:Linda_Sawyers@newton.k12.ma.us ]Linda_Sawyers@newton.k12.ma.us or call the Health Office at 617-559-9603. Linda Sawyers, RN, NCS
