National Inclusive Schools Week will be celebrated in our school Dec. 7-11. This annual event celebrates the progress that schools have made in providing supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population, including students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors.
Staff and students will be writing on traced hands; “I feel included when…” These hands will be placed on the wall near the school main entrance. The teachers will be using a book list with talking points to help foster discussions of diversity in classrooms. These books are in our library and available to families to have discussions at home.
