Last week the Creative Arts and Sciences Committee (“CASC”) treated our second graders to an inspiring visit by Ralph Masiello, author illustrator extraordinaire! Ralph explained the basics of creating an illustrated book and stressed the importance of research, reading, and practicing. He then showed the students how they could create original drawings combining basic shapes and simple lines. The students created the most amazing drawings which Ralph autographed. You can check out Ralph’s work at www.ralphmasiello.com. THIS PRESENTATION WAS FUNDED 100% BY THE PTO AND PARENT CONTRIBUTIONS! Thanks parents for your support and if you are interested in volunteering for CASC, please contact CASC Co-Chair Julie Paltrowitz at jpaltro1@yahoo.com.
