YOU ARE INVITED TO MEMORIAL SPAULDING’S ANNUAL WELLNESS PEEK WEEK!!
WHEN: January 21st-24th, 2020 (During your child’s PE time)
WHERE: IN THE GYMNASIUM (Please sign into the office first)
We would like to invite you to Memorial Spaulding’s Wellness Peek Week. This is a
time for families to see what their children are learning in Physical Education and
how hard they are working on their wellness through fitness. Come join the fun by
participating in a variety of fitness stations during your child’s P.E. time. We
encourage families to bring workout gear to exercise with their children. If you are
coming from work, no worries!
Throughout the Wellness Unit, students learn about the 5 Components of Fitness,
which include; Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, Body Composition,
Flexibility and Muscular Endurance. This year, grades 3-5 have learned how to use
IHT Heart Rate wristbands to measure their cardiovascular endurance and set goals.
They have also been learning about other ways to keep their brain, body and heart
healthy. Grades K-2 are using a variety of exercise equipment for the first time and
learning about eating healthy foods, getting enough sleep and exercising to keep
their bodies healthy on a daily basis. The goal is to create awareness around
Wellness and developing healthy lifestyles.
We are so proud of the effort and engagement of all our students and we know you
will be too!
Be Well,
Shannon Komow, Hildi Arnold and Danielle Pargoli
